Join us as we host our first speaker in a new series with Chase Cook, a University of Oklahoma graduate whose tweet became a rallying cry for many in the news industry after a shooting in his newsroom.
“I can tell you this: We are putting out a damn paper tomorrow,” he tweeted in the aftermath of the June shooting that killed five at The Capital in Annapolis, Maryland. That tweet ended up on many newspapers’ mastheads on July 12 as a salute to those who lost their lives.
The “Open Conversations … with Chase Cook” dinner is set for 7-9 p.m. Sept. 28 in Studio D at Gaylord Hall at OU’s campus in Norman. The event is the first in a series of lectures sponsored by FOI-Oklahoma, whose mission is to promote open and transparent government in Oklahoma.
