Loring files bill to make Oklahoma Legislature subject to Open Meeting Act
Representative Ben Loring has filed HB 2914, which would require the state legislature (excluding party caucus meetings) to be subject to the state’s Open Meeting Act.
FOI Oklahoma will have a longer post on the topic coming soon. In the meantime, we applaud Rep. Loring’s initiative to increase public access and oversight of the state legislature. We firmly believe that the branch of government charged with creating the laws should be subject to the same public scrutiny as the rest of our government.
